WHERE NATURE BEGINS

Sir Sam's Inn was once the Haliburton estate of Sir Samuel Hughes, the decorated government minister who led Canada's Military through the first world war.

The 10-bedroom stone and timber mansion he built along Eagle Lake's shoreline uniquely combined his desire for civilized comforts with his respect for nature's own bold architecture.

That mutual respect continues today. While we've added 16 lakeside accommodations and the WaterSpa, a conference wing and many other amenities, nature remains the guest of honour.

BACK IN TOUCH

Stroll through acres of pine and hardwood forest on a nature trail or cruise the crystalline lakes in our classic fantail launch, the Lady Hughes.

Feeling energetic? From our beach you can water-ski, windsurf, sail, kayak, canoe and swim. We also have tennis and mountain biking ideally followed by our WaterSpa.

The WaterSpa at Eagle Lake offers spa services that include a range of treatments to soothe, relax and refresh, essential elements of a true holiday.

AND THE FOOD

Nature's gifts are also celebrated in our Twin Fires dining room and wine cellar. Our kitchen is consistently rated one of the best north of Toronto, always serving fresh choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Visit the cellar before dinner and select from the extensive collection of wines or join us for one of our regular tastings, in the Loung by the Fire.

After dinner, enjoy a specialty coffer or digestive in front of the fire, along with a game of billiards, darts or shuffleboard in Gunner's Pub. In the warmer months relax on the verandah, enjoying your coffee and the sunset over Eagle Lake.

ALWAYS IN SEASON

The pleasures of Sir Sam's Inn & WaterSpa know no season. We invite you to enjoy them all. The sunshine of spring and summer, our spectacular autumn and the exhilarating winter months.

Sir Sam's Ski Area has six lifts, snowmaking, a ski school and rental program. Nearby the Haliburton Nordic Trails has a groomed network for all levels. Snowmobile and dogsled tours are available at our doorstep.

A LITTLE BUSINESS

Why not mix business with pleasure? Our Conference Wing is designed for group, corporate and social functions. Before you plan your next meeting, why not meet with us.

ALWAYS INVITING

Sir Sam's is to be seen and savoured, for a weekend, for a week, for whatever your life needs our nature will appeal to you.
